27 March 2023: Linkd Tourism has been chosen by New York State’s Division of Tourism to serve as its Australian and New Zealand in-market representative, responsible for travel trade sales, marketing and public relations efforts. Linkd Tourism will focus on driving visitation throughout the state, encouraging Aussie and Kiwi travellers to spend more time exploring the rich and extensive range of visitor experiences available across New York’s 11 travel regions.
“We are delighted to work with Linkd Tourism on promoting the many and varied ways to experience New York State,” said Ross Levi, Vice President and Executive Director of New York State’s Division of Tourism. “Australia and New Zealand are key markets for our tourism businesses, and we place great emphasis on specialist tour operators and travel agents who are essential to our international visitation. The expertise and connections Linkd maintains within the industry, coupled with their ability to tell our stories with flair, will be key in encouraging more travellers to discover New York State.”
Located in the northeastern United States, New York State is well-known as the home of the country’s largest and most populous city – New York City – and the mighty Niagara Falls, but the state’s varied geography and opportunities for rewarding leisure travel extend much further. From hiking and biking in the Adirondacks, to exploring wine trails in the beautiful Finger Lakes, enjoying a ski and spa getaway in the Catskills, or honouring the history of Revolutionary War and Underground Railroad at sites in the Capital-Saratoga region, discovering contemporary art and historic homes in the Hudson Valley, or relaxing on a Long Island beach, each of the state’s 11 travel regions offer distinctive and memorable experiences.
“When international travellers hear ‘New York’ their first thoughts are often of skyscrapers, city lights, Broadway shows and the Statue of Liberty. Our other regions offer rich culture and history, stunning landscapes, and endless year-round opportunities to explore the great outdoors. Linkd Tourism will be a key partner in our quest to increase awareness and welcome more visitors to destinations across the state,” Levi said.
Linkd Tourism’s strategic director Michael Cassis will direct the marketing and campaigns strategy, with Millie Browne as Trade Account Director and Dana Craven as a key contact across the trade. In New Zealand, Regional Account Manager Elaine Patton will be the main point of contact. PR and marketing plans will be directed by Linkd Tourism’s PR Director Polly Simmons, with PR Manager Trina Shepherd implementing and overseeing all PR and media activity for the account.
Linkd Tourism Managing Director and Owner Kylee Kay said, “We are very enthusiastic about working with New York State Tourism to promote the ‘I LOVE NY’ messaging and our dynamic team are eager with new ideas and marketing strategies to inform, educate and convert our travel market. The combination of city and outdoor adventures in New York State is very appealing and with travel currently booming, it’s the perfect time for Australians and New Zealanders to extend their itinerary and enjoy the adventures that New York State has to offer.”
Linkd Tourism’s international travel trade and media representation also includes Colorado Tourism Office, Arizona Office of Tourism, The Great American West (trade), Washington State Tourism, Hong Kong Tourism Board and Kyushu Tourism Organization
