Seattle shines a light on Black History Month

February is Black History Month and Seattle’s Northwest African American Museum displays connections between the Pacific Northwest and people of African descent. Visitors can celebrate Black experiences through the histories, arts and cultures of people of African descent via virtual exhibitions and events. Visit NAAM.

For foodies, Seattle chefs of color embody the diverse fabric of Seattle’s food scene from James Beard Award-winning JuneBaby to Jerk Shack to That Brown Girl Cooks. For music fans, think Quincy Jones, Jimi Hendrix and watch The Black Tones perform “Ghetto Spaceship”!
